TANDsoft Solutions a Hit at Recent User Group Events

The TANDsoft team had the opportunity to attend a couple of recent HPE NonStop events:

• CTUG 2025. Put on by the Canadian Tandem User Group, this year’s CTUG event took place on May 21 and 22, in Mississauga, Ontario.
• E-BITUG 2025. The British Isles Tandem User Group held its annual event in Dublin, Ireland on June 3 – 5.

Case Study: Global Technology Company Shaves 11 Weeks Off Comparison Cycles

The Challenge

Over the course of decades, a global technology firm grew to become one of the world’s leading suppliers of personal computers, servers, storage environments, and more. Throughout that time, the company continued to be highly reliant upon its NonStop environments. To ensure data availability and integrity, it was vital to compare all production database objects, and ensure they were in synch with their disaster recovery
environments. As their deployments grew, the team began to find that it took significant cycle times to do these comparisons, and these efforts also consumed a lot of staff time.

Initially, they used an enterprise software vendor’s data-comparison and repair tool. While the solution is billed as being high performance, it was actually taking 12 weeks to complete a full comparison cycle of all their production data.

The Solution

After a survey of the solutions available, the team chose FS Compare and Repair. Only the TANDsoft solution offered the high scalability and performance that they required.
